I am a sansei artist. Currently, My art explores multifaceted Japanese Canadian experiences of intergenerational healing, including forgiveness. I now forgive myself, forgive Japan for declaring war and forgive the Canadian government for what they did to us. By exploring my family’s relationship with Canada through my art, I found that it validated, not diminished, their histories by allowing the public to bear witness to our Japanese Canadian history.
